SORTING AND MATCHING GAMES

TAKE A BREAK WITH ANTI-STRESS TOYS
MEDITATE WITH A BUBBLE TIMER
CREATE WITH PIPE CLEANERS
Meditation with a bubble timer can help children redirect their energy and calm down.
Take a break if intense emotions arise and a child needs space. Give them pipe cleaners to create with or a stress-relief toy to use until they can calm down and return to playing with their peers. Bubble timers, stress-relief toys, and pipe cleaners can be purchased online

FOR INFANTS: USE PACIFIERS OR CHEWING TOYS
TEXTURED FRUITS AND VEGETABLES TO ENGAGE THE SENSES: TOUCH, SMELL, HEARING AND SIGHT
Infants also enjoy watching bubble timers, but they should not be left alone with them.

EMOTION MATCHING GAME

There are 16 matches, but it is recommended that this age group use 6-8 pairs for a game instead of all of them.

Emoji face for paper plates

Print out the emoji faces. A teacher will need to cut out the faces and the name of each emotion. Give the children an emoji face, an emotion label, a paper plate, and a glue stick. There are 16 faces, so depending on how many children there are, you may need to print some twice or have the children make two. After they are made, put them in a pile and talk about each emotion, what it is, and when you might feel it.
