Coping Skills Fishing: Print out the Coping Practice Bingo Game (lamination is recommended). Cut out the 16 pieces and place a paper clip on each one. Place them upside down on a table or the floor. These are the fish. Take a popsicle stick or stick from outside and tie a piece of yarn to it and add a magnet to the other end. Circle “O” magnets work really well. As each fish is caught, have the child that caught it practice the healthy coping skill or say when they might use it. Put the “fish” back in the pond and catch another one.

Hide and Seek Emotions: Print out the Emotions Matching game. Divide the matches in 2 piles. Have a child or children hide one pile of emotions with other children closing their eyes or in a different room. Then pass out the emotions in the other pile to the children that were not looking. They have to go find the emotion that matches their card. If they find an emotion that doesn’t match, they can’t tell and have to keep looking. When they find their match, they tell when they have felt or might feel this emotion.

Coping Skills Pyramids: Print out the Coping Skills Bowling game and make the toilet paper roll bowling pins. Make several sets to use for bigger groups. Kids will take turns stacking the toilet rolls to make a pyramid (4 on the bottom, then 3, then 2 and 1 on top). You can try building pyramid on their side or standing up them up. Whichever roll is put on the top of the pyramid is the one they get to practice.

You can make it like a relay with teams trying to compete against each other or you can also make it fun rolling a ball to knock down the pyramid after the child has practiced the healthy coping skill on top.
